Canaanite gate 40000 years old
Tel Dan
This site was the center of Baal worship and captured by the tribe of Dan and became the most northern city of the kingdom of Israel. We saw the remains of an ancient arched gate, (1750 BC) built shortly after Jacob’s family traveled to Egypt, as well as the Baal  alter  built at the time of King Arab. This site is near the borders of Syria and Lebanon. We heard Israeli drones and Israeli helicopters overhead on surveillance because of the increased tension between Syria and Israel. (But we felt quite safe!)
